Extension or loft conversion
We have started planning extending our home. David (my husband) would like to use the existing roof, alter it slightly then put a nice suite up there for me and him. Our two babies will then be able to have their own rooms downstairs.
I would like to take the roof off and add two stories lol!
We are in the very early stages planning this home extension. I intend to share the entire journey in this blog. Including all plans, materials, drawings and costs.
I can't wait to see what happens!

What Do You Really Want, More Space or a Showstopper?
Are you chasing extra space or a high-spec “wow” project? Knowing the difference can save you thousands. We could sacrifice a bedroom for a walk-in wardrobe but would that hurt resale? You don’t need a showhome to gain space that works.
Our Fox Den wasn’t fancy, but it’s functional and still impresses. Before you dive in, ask yourself: do you want the space, or the statement? That answer shapes everything.

200k For a Home Extension, No Thanks!
I’ve started crunching numbers, and while verbal quotes put my dream build at £150K-£200K, my own estimates tell a different story… Could a 3-story blockwork extension really be possible for £60K? 🤯
