Garden room build type, pick wisely!

Updated: Jul 3

What type of garden room should you build? Some options to consider are below.

  1. Timber frame with weatherboard - Is how we built The Fox Den. It’s fully insulated, plastered, decorated with double glazed UPVC doors and windows. It’s basically like being in a room in a house. It has a radiator, 75 inch TV, fridge, indoor and outdoor spotlights, LED dart board, plug sockets, pool table, bar and a disco ball. It has the wow factor when you walk in.

  2. Log cabin - Interlocking lengths of timber usually with single glazed wooden windows. Yearly maintenance is essential to keep them in excellent condition. Most companies provide guarantees, but it's crucial to follow specific requirements to ensure the guarantee remains valid. These structures are primarily marketed as summer houses, indicating they may not be suitable for year-round use. And how long does it take for wood to begin rotting? What will they look like in 9 years?

  3. Block work with render or weatherboard - I have seen them done and I love block work, but with out a cavity it’s not something I have any experience with.

  4. Modular build - when the panels are delivered to site and just fixed together. Greta way to build, but can be expensive.

Garden room build type, pick wisely, do you research! I think you would be surprised if you called to see how much we could do yours for.
