🧱 Judging Criteria​

This is not a random prize draw.​ I will choose the winner based on:

  • The worst compromised Damp Proof Course I receive

  • The potential long-term damage the defect could cause

  • The level of builder neglect or refusal to fix it.

📅 Important Dates

  • Entries close: 31/08/25

  • Winner announced: 12/09/25

  • Inspection scheduled: Based on winner’s availability

🛠️ What Happens If You Win

  1. You’ll just need to sign a quick consent message or email to authorise me to act

  2. You'll also need to instruct your builder using my Consent Email template that you are happy for me to operate on your behalf to try and gain access to your homes construction drawings

  3. I’ll contact your builder or warranty provider on your behalf

    • I’ll request access to the construction drawings, specifications or standard details relevant to your home

    • If I cannot get the drawings after one calendar month of consent being given, the inspection will carry on without the drawings

  4. We’ll schedule the video call or onsite inspection

    • You’ll walk me through your home on camera (Remote Snag)

    • I will visit your property (South East Homes ONLY) 

    • I’ll flag every concern directly to you or in my own notes

  5. You’ll send clear follow-up photos or use the ones I took on the visit

    • I’ll create and send your final snagging report you can use as evidence.

📍 Who Can Enter

  • UK residents aged 18 or over

  • Must own a new build property

  • Must have had handover (no pre-completion homes)

  • You’ll need to be available for a video call, site visit (South East Homes ONLY) and give consent to contact your builder

 

📸 Publication & Privacy Terms

By entering, you agree that:

  • Your photos and findings may be published anonymously to raise awareness

  • No names, addresses, companies or personal details will ever be shared

  • Any identifying features in photos (like house numbers) will be blurred
